It’s the people in a business that make it special

  • As a supplier of early education furniture and resources I have had the pleasure of working alongside Jay for several years now. Jay has a wealth of industry experience from operations to project management, combined with her attention to detail and creative approach

  • I have only good things to say about Jay who completely put my mind at ease when my daughter first started daycare. I was completely overwhelmed by the separation anxiety that both me and my daughter experienced, however Jay would give me regular updates on how she was doing and would check in on me to see how I was doing. She was always so kind, understanding and supportive and made the transition to daycare much less stressful.

  • Jay is in touch with what parents want and need in an Early Learning Centre. Her extensive industry experience and genuine care for the children is reflected in her team and in her Centres.

    Anita

  • I worked with Jay in previous daycare centres in Perth as a yoga teacher Jay is a forward thinker who has a lovely holistic approach to the care and nurturing of little minds and was so supportive of the children doing their mindfulness and fun yoga poses to fun music and beats I’m very excited for all the parents who will have the opportunity to experience Jays care and support of their children at Sagewood Early Learning.

  • I've worked with Jay for many years now and I can honestly say that her professionalism and dedication to the early childhood industry is second to none. She always goes the extra mile to provide the best quality of care for children and their families.

Well-being program

Our work in Early Childhood Education requires sustained high physical, mental and emotional effort to complete our job. A range of workplace determinants can have a negative or positive impact on the health and wellbeing of an employee. Within our Centre, we are committed to promoting a positive work environment where the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees is acknowledged and supported. Wellness is more than just an active process of becoming aware of and learning to make healthy choices for our mental, physical and social needs to ensure our body is maintained and works efficiently. Wellness is “about our overall state of wellbeing that enables us to live and function at our best.” Our goal is to promote working relationships and team work to ensure that each staff member is respected and their strengths promoted.

Staff discount

To balance work and family commitments, we support the enrolment of our employees’ children within our centres. This includes all family relationships including biological children, adopted, and fostered children, stepchildren, nieces and/or nephews.

We aim to have clear and defined roles for staff and Educators to ensure we are maintaining a fair and equitable service for all children, staff, and employees. We recognise that family responsibilities are of the utmost importance and having your child attend the Centre where you work is time efficient and provides flexibility and convenience. Negotiated staff discount is offered to all employees with children up to 95%.

Professional Development

A commitment by Early Childhood educators to ongoing professional development is the key to effective continuous improvement and the provision of quality childcare. Engaging in professional development helps to identify individual educator’s areas of strengths and areas requiring improvement.

Professional development allows individuals to build and improve their knowledge and skills within the early childhood industry whilst keeping up to date with current research and recommended practice.

The Early Childhood Education sector continues to grow and change. These changes impact on licensing and assessment requirements as well as our interactions and documentation of individual children. To comply and improve we implement procedures for identifying areas in which our educators and staff can enhance skills and knowledge in the early childhood industry through relevant and effective professional development and training. We aim to review and update individual professional development plans based on performance appraisals detecting strengths, interests, and goals.
