a morning made for our youngest explorers
Our Harrisdale playgroup has been shaped around babies and toddlers. Each session is led by an educator from Cocoon, our baby room, so the morning is guided by someone who spends every day with little ones who are learning to crawl, to cruise along the furniture and to take those first careful steps.
It is a calm, indoor space where your child can explore at their own pace, with you close by the whole time. It is also a lovely way to meet other local parents, and families join us from Harrisdale, Piara Waters, Forrestdale, Treeby and Southern River.
how the morning unfolds
We begin together on the mat with our welcome song, which helps even the youngest children recognise that playgroup has started. Our educators prepare the room beforehand, setting out hands on experiences on the tables and tuff trays, and each week brings something new to touch, pour, squish or stack.
rom there, the children move between the activities as they please. There is no hurry and no set order, just time to explore, to repeat what they love and to discover what interests them, with you alongside.
We settle in for a story to share, which builds early language and listening, then finish back on the mat together with songs before we say goodbye.
the educators who will welcome you
Playgroup is led each week by an educator from our Cocoon room, supported by the Sagewood Harrisdale leadership team. Over a term you will get to know several of the people who care for our babies, and your little one will begin to recognise the faces and voices that make our centre feel like a second home.

before you come
We keep each session to ten children so that every family has space and attention, so please email us to let us know which Monday you would like to join. Because some of our children have allergies, we are not able to provide food or have it brought into the room, though there are comfortable chairs in the foyer if your baby needs a bottle or a feed.
If a session ever needs to be cancelled, we will send you an email and share a note on our Facebook page.
your first look at Sagewood Harrisdale
If your baby will be starting child care in the next year or so, playgroup is a gentle way to prepare. The educators who lead playgroup come from Cocoon, our baby room, so your child can grow familiar with the faces who would care for them long before their first day. There is nothing to decide now. When you would like to know more, our team can show you through the centre after playgroup, or you can book a tour at a time that suits your family.
