a small morning that means a great deal
Every Monday, our Children's House room at Sagewood Baldivis opens its doors to local families for three quarters of an hour of play. We keep the group to ten children, which means there is room for your little one to explore without the morning ever feeling crowded, and time for you to talk with other parents while the children play.
You are warmly welcome whether you have just moved to Baldivis or have lived here for years, and whether or not your child is enrolled with us. Families join us from Wellard, Cooloongup, Warnbro, Port Kennedy and Karnup, and many come back week after week.
how the morning unfolds
We meet you in the foyer at 10am, sign in together and walk into the Children's House room as a group. Everyone gathers on the rug for a welcome song, and from there we look at the calendar, talk about the weather and sing a few nursery rhymes with actions for little hands to follow.
The rest of the session belongs to the children. Our educators prepare the room before you arrive with experiences chosen to invite curiosity, often small world play, playdough and sensory trays. They move around the room with families as the morning goes on, supporting the children as they explore and sharing ideas with parents along the way.
At 10.45am we sing our pack away song and tidy the room together as a community, then return to the mat for a goodbye song to close the morning gently.

Your mornings are led by Eryn, our Educational Leader and Haylee. Between them they know the children, the families and the room inside out, and they are always happy to answer your questions, whether about playgroup or about early learning more broadly.

Siblings
before you come
We keep each session to ten children so that every family has space and attention, so please email us to let us know which Monday you would like to join. Because some of our children have allergies, we are not able to provide food or have it brought into the room, though there are comfortable chairs in the foyer if your baby needs a bottle or a feed.
If a session ever needs to be cancelled, we will send you an email and share a note on our Facebook page.
